In General

Electronic copies of the images are generally NOT available,
unless specific arrangements have been made ahead of time.

When in doubt, simply ask.

Starting in 2008, we're using a pair of Nikon D300s (4288 x 2848 resolution).
Images that are not crystal clear are usually discarded.
The on-line slideshows present 640x425 images.
Standard DVD resolution is about the same.

D300 images are 45 times better!!

If it looks good on the web, it'll be even better printed out.
That's a promise.

Even the best computer monitors can't compete with a print or book in your hand.

If you don't like it-- return it; you don't pay.
Can it be any simpler?
All of our prints come to you on Kodak Endura paper.

Philosophy 101

When digital cameras came along, there was a temptation to think that photography would suddenly become way less expensive.
Electrons are pretty cheap, I'll grant you, but that's about the only thing that is.
Film was never the driving cost of photography.
The cost of labor is (by far!) the biggest driver.
The cost of equipment is almost as bad.
We use high-end Nikon equipment.
It's expensive, but you can't argue with the results.

My philosophy is to charge for what costs me time or money,
and to give you a break on the stuff that doesn't.

So how does that play out, exactly?

Let's say that I come to your house for a senior portrait session.
I'll bring along a portable studio (that's worth more than my first new car!)
Once the posing is done, hours of post-processing still remain.
You need to pay for that. Fair is fair. Right?

Once you do, making 1 or 100 prints isn't much different.
The official business terminology is "no value added".
So give big enlargements to everyone you know.
I'm not going to break you.

Philosophy 201

This will sound completely corny, but I try to use my camera for good, and not evil.

So what does that mean, exactly?

It means that sometimes I donate my labor to teams, groups, and causes that I support.
I don't keep or post photos that make people look bad.

Philosophy 301

When I put my head on my pillow at night, I want to fall right to sleep.

So what does that mean, exactly?

You've probably heard of "The Golden Rule".
It's nothing more than treating others like you would like to be treated.

Cheating people isn't my thing.
When in doubt, I'll give more or charge less.

Sometimes I send photos to strangers because I think they'll like them.
Sometimes I "enhance" orders with extra photos or enlargements (at no charge).
I sleep like a baby.
